CPT and Barcelona Celebrate Club World Cup Success in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi, UAE – 22 December 2009 – When His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan invited the greatest football clubs from every continent to complete against each other in Abu Dhabi a huge amount of preparation was required.

From the pitch to logistics, hospitality to training facilities, at the height of summer the requirements seemed a formidable challenge for Abu Dhabi to deliver upon. The Government of Abu Dhabi called upon the leading suppliers from throughout the Emirate and it was Computer Power Technology (CPT) that was selected to route Internet services throughout two football stadiums and enable the world’s media to report on this international sporting event in over 100 countries across the globe.Using a combination of Aruba and Juniper Technology, CPT designed and implemented an outstanding technical infrastructure at Al Jazira stadium and Zayed Sports City stadium providing wireless and fixed internet access to everyone from the football stars themselves, match officials and hundreds of photographers, reporters and broadcasters.
